Who We Are
Wendy Neely, LAc, Dipl. OM
As the Founder and Owner of Citizen Acupuncture, LLC, I thank you for your interest in this healing modality and the investment you are making in your longterm health and wellbeing. Through my education and clinical internship, it was humbling to witness patients experience relief from pain, physical and emotional challenges and also discover purpose and meaning along the way.
I earned my Master of Acupuncture and Master of Oriental Medicine, along with a Post-Baccalaureate in Chinese Herbs, in 2020 from Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, MD. I am board certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed to practice in New Hampshire. As well, I am trained in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association’s NADA Protocol and certified as an Acupuncture Detox Specialist.
My education began in 2014 at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR with a solid foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory. Transferring to MUIH midstream gave me further depth in studying Worsley Constitutional Five Element theory and a Classical program in Chinese Herbal Medicine, also with a Five Element emphasis.
Prior to my graduate program, I spent almost 20 years in the business world, much of it in Corporate America, and enjoyed the fast-pace and sense of purpose that came with working for major brands. Alas, that kind of lifestyle is rarely sustainable and in a very real way, is how I came to the decision to study Oriental medicine.
My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, from Stanford University. While I would not have thought a medical profession would be in my future at that time, it turns out that the interdisciplinary studies of history, literature and political science provided a way of observing and understanding the human condition that is at the heart of what I do now.
Thank you again and please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or curiosities about how acupuncture, herbs and the other offerings might be of benefit to you!
